Hello my dear blogger friends!
When I started blogging, I wish I had one place where I could go and get all the useful blogging resources and that I wouldn’t need to do hours of research on google and youtube.
I have created this page just for you to easily access some of my favorite, frequently used, and most trusted products or services. I use most of them myself for My Bookish Blog and some of them are the ones that are highly recommended (I did an extensive research on what the best bloggers use and recommend).
This post contains affiliate links. This means that if you purchase through such links, I will receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. It’s okay – I love all these products anyways and only recommend products/services that I approve of. These commissions help me provide unique content to my readers and I greatly appreciate your support! To read my full disclosure and more boring legal stuff, click here.
If you’re thinking of starting your own blog or are new to the blogosphere, I’m sure this will be useful to you. I have done all the hard work for you, all you need to do now is click on the links below and start your own blog!
Make sure to check back frequently, as I will update these resources whenever I come across something that I love and think you will too!
Blogging Resources: Starting The Blog
Blogging Platform – WordPress
There are a number of blogging platforms out there that you can choose, but I highly recommend WordPress. WordPress.org is a software that allows you to create your blog, website or app. WordPress is a top choice among many successful bloggers and what I use for my blog as well. It has tons of designing options with free themes, widgets and plugins. You cannot go wrong with it.
Hosting & Domain – BlueHost
If you choose to self host your blog, which I highly recommend, BlueHost is a poweful and extremely affordable way to do so. They have multiple options based on your budget and other requirements. Moreover, you can get a domain name and even transfer an existing website if you already have one without hosting. They even provide unmatched customer service and help you with setting up your hosting and domain.
Blogging Resources: Designing The Blog
Professional Designing – Fiverr
Fiverr.com is a fabulous website where designers, illustrators and content writers from all around the world have set up shop. You can choose these creative geniuses to do a variety of tasks such as, logo designing, website designing, content writing, etc. The prices start from $5 and hence the name Fiverr. I use it for a lot of my work on the blog and for my full time work as well. I’m there too as a content writer.
Self Designing – Canva
If you have a decent eye for designing, I cannot recommend Canva enough. It has tons of templates that you can use to design your own social media posts and other graphics. I swear by Canva and I feel you should definitely give it a go. It’s free for the basic version (you can do a lot with the free version) and there is a small free for the canva for work version (which allows you to create a cohesive brand image and lots of other features).
Blogging Resources: Monetizing The Blog
Growing E-Mail List – ConvertKit
If you ask any successful blogger, they will tell you that you need an e-mail list, and rightly so. Email marketing is a great way to establish relationships and boost your income by providing products that your audience will trust. ConvertKit is easy to use, easily customizable, and makes staying in touch with your readers a breeze. They also have great customer service to help you with any questions that you may have.
Affiliate marketing offers you a chance to start an online business with minimal capital. If you implement it successfully, you may add a few thousand dollars into your monthly income. This book by Kevin Ulaner provides you with all the tips and strategies you need to start your business. It provides you with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed in internet marketing. It also teaches you the process on how to become an affiliate marketer and how to make your business a success.
Blogging Resources: Learning Social Media
Pinterest is the fastest-growing social media platform, with more than 80 percent of its users women between the ages of 25 and 54. Learn to reach this desirable market by following the advice in this step-by-step, task-based guide! It explains Pinterest’s unique appeal and fundamentals, then shows how to develop a strategic marketing plan, set up an account, curate winning content, find followers, and track and monitor Pinterest traffic. The popular An Hour a Day format uses a detailed how-to approach with case studies, tips, interviews, and more.
Instagram has become a vital tool for bloggers to spread awareness about their business. For me, it is the second most vital source of traffic after Pinterest. Instagram Secrets is NOT a book about getting likes and comments or which hashtags to use. Instead, the information found inside of the 21 chapters lays out a step-by-step formula for the two things online entrepreneurs care about most – building a large following FAST and converting those followers into DOLLARS.
Blogging Resources: Scheduling
Tailwind – Pinterest & Instagram
Tailwind is a Pinterest and Instagram scheduler. I use it for scheduling my Pinterest pins and honestly, this has been the best investment I have made so far. It works like magic and within a couple of months you will start noticing your page views shooting through the roof. You will notice 99% of successful bloggers using it to schedule their pins. I highly recommend signing up for Tailwind, you will not regret it.
CoSchedule – Organizing
Scheduling is a MUST if you plan to run your blog like a business. Between content creation, social media blasts, sponsored opportunities, giveaways, emails, course launches etc. you need a one-stop-shop for organizing your blog. CoSchedule makes all these tasks extremely easy and allows you to add other users that make up your team for cohesive management of your blog.
These are just a few of the many resources available to bloggers at all stages, however, I’ve found that they played a key role in helping me get my blogging business started. I think they’re great for every blogger to have.
Make sure you check back often, as I will be adding and updating when I come across awesome products that I think you will love.
I will be letting you know when I find great resources via my email list as well so make sure you sign up if you haven’t already! You get FREE bookmarks and planner pages printable files when you sign up.
