Wrap Up: April 2019

5 min read

Hello beautiful bookworms!

It’s really hard to believe that I’m already writing my wrap up post for April 2019! It seems like just a few days ago that I posted my March Wrap Up post and decided on my goals for April.

Although it seems like the month flew by, in reality a lot happened in this time. There were some good and some bad things but let me tell you about the one bad thing that really affected me….

My Pinterest Account was Suspended!!

That’s right! I’m writing the whole story and will be posting it in a couple of days. When pinterest account is suspended, there will be no warning sign and suddenly you’ll realise that you’re account has been put in ‘pinterest jail’. So I hope the post I’m writing will help you out so do keep an eye out for it.

Moving on….

April 2019 actually turned out to be a good reading month for me. I usually cannot seem to read more than 5-6 books a month but this month I managed to read 12 books!!

How did I do it? I started listening to audiobooks and discovered audible! It is really a fantastic deal if you find good narrators and honestly, all the books that I listened too have been beautifully narrated. Audiobooks was a joy!

Reading / Blogging Goals I Achieved:

So in my March 2019 Wrap Up, I started setting some reading and blogging goals. I’m quite satisfied with the results considering my mind was switched off for most of the month because of my pinterest account issue.

Before I talk about these goals, I want to say something that I said last month also…

Please know that this is not a means for bragging (even though the numbers are not quite as impressive). This is just for me to keep track of my progress and be accountable to push myself further 🙂

I am extremely thankful to all my followers and because you love the content I produce, I feel motivated to continue doing so. Your love and support IS and WILL always be appreciated. You all are very important to me J

And now for the fun part, goals for April 2019 that I achieved or did not achieve. These numbers are as of 29th April, 2019. Let’s have a look:

Apart from these some of my other goals were:

  • Blog Hopping: Although I didn’t keep a count, I’m quite satisfied with the blog hopping I did this month. I did a few twitter threads as well to support fellow bloggers. – Achieved
  • Comments: I am caught up with all comments on my blog but I’ll be honest, I wasn’t very proactive so I still need to work on this in May. – Not Achieved
  • Schedule Posts: A total FAIL! I struggled to post this month and that’s only because my MBA Thesis deadline is so close. I love writing posts so I hope things will be better next month. – Not Achieved
  • Review More: I was reviewing around 4 books till last month and this month I reviewed 12 books. – Achieved
  • Not To Forget To Rest: This went down the drain when my pinterest account got suspended. I was thrown off balance which makes me wonder if I should let it bother me so much… – Not Achieved

Reading/Blogging Goals for May 2019:

Here’s my fresh challenge for May, 2019. I’m not going to keep very high targets because I need to submit my MBA Thesis so a lot of my time will go there.

So that’s how April 2019 was for me. It was a total roller-coaster but I enjoyed and learned so much.

whoa you’ve had a busy month! congrats on reaching so many of your reading and blogging goals, and I’m glad you got your pinterest reinstated, though it definitely sucks that you had to go through that 😕 best of luck with your May goals and your thesis 💪

    • Ayushi

Thanks Isabelle! I’m happy with my progress so far 🙂 And thanks for wishing me luck for my thesis, I definitely need it :p

Awesome Wrap- up! Sorry to hear about the Pinterest debacle but I am glad that it was solved eventually and that you were able to achieve most of your goals!

    Now, let’s rock May!!

  • Jennifer

That is a great reading month – good job! You are right – Audiobooks do help, and I need to commit to them more. I love working in the garden, so listening to a book would go a long way to getting some more books read at the same time.

And I really liked Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine! I will have to check out some of your others you read.

    • Ayushi

Thanks Jennifer! Listening to audiobooks while gardening in the sun… can anything sound more perfect?? That will be amazing and the best way you can utilize your time. I live in an apartment so no gardening for me and anyway I’m the most terrible person when it comes to plants, for some reason I just cannot keep them alive. So I’ve stopped keeping them at all.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine was a wonderful read. If you liked it, I think you will like all of Liane Moriarty’s books too.

  • Jerserry

This is so amazing post ever! I love this so much. Especially your target and what you have done on last month and make a new target for the next month! Impressive :3 can’t wait to see more!

  • Erik

I love how you organize everything in lists and charts. I am so unorganized when doing this kind of thing and have to refer back to notebooks all over the place :P.

    • Ayushi

Hahaha! It looks all organised on the post but trust me, I have notes all over the place too. I like to put my goals in a table because then I take a picture of it so it can keep reminding me to work harder.

  • Adele

Wow! It looks like you had a great month in April. And you reviewed quite a few books as well! I’ll definitely be checking those out.

    Happy Reading!

    • Ayushi

Thanks Adele. I was so surprised at myself too because I definitely don’t read so much usually. All credit goes to audiobooks, I’ve fallen in love with them! Happy Reading to you too 🙂
